X Factor Final

Contestants are preparing for the finale of this years season of ITV’s singing show “The X Factor”, which will air on Saturday and see the lucky winner awarded with a recording contract.

This year’s finalists are Stacey Solomon, Joe McElderry and Olly Murs, who are the fortunate three to survive a contest that has whittled out thousands of other contestants. “I feel like I’ve come right to the end of this whole thing,” Solomon says. “I’m at a nice level now. I’m really happy.” Murs concurs with his fellow finalist, adding that “I think this week all the nerves have gone, really. We’re in the final, we’ve just got to enjoy it, have fun and have a really good night and let the best person win, really.” McElderry, on the other hand, admits he is still a little on the jittery side, admitting that he frequently “hyperventilates” before a show but tries to “put all the nerves into my performance.”

The show has been rating upwards of fifteen million viewers this year, so the chances of “The X Factor” returning for another season next year look seriously positive, though creator and judge Simon Cowell refuses to say for certain. “Where we stand, we have no deal next year for “The X Factor”,” he insists. “Generally we make these decisions when we’ve had a break from the show – because you get too immersed in it, and it’s a long show… I do think, however, with the changes on the show this year, there has been genuine interest from the people who like the show, to bring it back.”
