Financed by Mimran Schur Pictures and Millennium Films, the screenplay for “Stone” is written by Angus McLachlan (“Junebug”), based on his play, and directed by John Curran (“The Painted Veil”, with David Mimran as producer, and Jordan Schur, Holly Wiersma, Avi Lerner, Trevor Short and  Danny Dimbort as executive producers. International distribution is set to be handled by Nu Image.

Overture has a number of films on its slate, with “Law Abiding Citizen” and “The Men Who Stare At Goats” currently in US cinemas, and their 2010 line-up, in addition to the newly announced “Stone”, also consisting of  “The Crazies” (scheduled for release on the twenty sixth of February), “Jack Goes Boating”, the directorial debut from actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, and “Brooklyn’s Finest”, an action thriller starring Richard Gere, Ellen Barkin, Don Cheadle and Wesley Snipes, which is expected to be released on the fifth of March.
