Sandra Bullock may be up for an Oscar for Best Actress in sports drama “The Blind Side”, but it was a very different kind of award she walked away with on Saturday night, winning Worst Actress at the annual Razzie awards for “All About Steve”, and Bullock fulfilled an earlier promise by actually showing up to collect the gong in person!
“I said I would show up,” she told the assembled audience at the award ceremony, designed to showcase the very worst Hollywood has to offer, “and then I miraculously won!” Declaring that that was further proof that “all you have to do is show up and you get an award” in Hollywood, the forty five year old actress arrived on stage with a wagon filled with DVDs of the much panned movie, for which she also ‘won’ Worst Screen Couple with actor Bradley Cooper. “We brought everybody in the audience a DVD of “All About Steve”, Bullock noted, asking them to watch the movie again and admit that it wasn’t actually that bad, and promising that if they do, “I will come back next year. I will give back the Razzie.”
In other Razzie results, Paris Hilton was named Worst Actress of the Decade, while “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” took out three major prizes, being declared both the worst film of 2009, having the Worst Screenplay of 2009, and having its director, Michael Bay, named Worst Director. “Battlefield Earth” was named the Worst Film of the Decade.
