Holloway on Lost

Josh Holloway has become world famous for his role as Sawyer, the resident bad boy on cult mystery drama series “Lost”, and the actor is both beyond grateful to the series and amazed that he is one of the lucky few original characters to have survived into the much anticipated sixth and final season of the show.

“I feel some validation because I’m still alive!” the forty year old actor told USA Today. “I remember reading the first pilot and going “Oh my God, this guy’s an ass. I’ll be lucky if I last half a season!”” he laughs. “My work was to try and find any inkling of humanity in the guy in order to survive… Well, it’s worked so far!” “Lost” executive producer Damon Lindelof is certainly in agreement with him, noting that “It’s almost impossible to transform a bad boy into the guy with a heart on his sleeve, but Josh has done that just that.”

“Lost” was without a doubt Holloway’s big break, and he admits that it effectively changed everything for him. “So much has changed for me here,” he notes. “I really didn’t believe I would last this long or that I’d be accepted, or that I’d grow as an actor… It’s a lot of fun to not be embarrassed when I say I’m an actor.” While he’s been on “Lost” for the last five years, the actor has bought his first house, married and had his first child. “All these huge milestones in life have happened here,” he says. “It’s changed my life significantly, partly because I was at that point in my life, and partly because (“Lost”) has allowed me to do so.”
